About Melissa Chen

Melissa (Mel) Chen is an artist based in the San Francisco Bay Area. She works in digital illustration, painting, and installation. She is concerned with frameworks through which to see the digital ordinary and how they can be reproduced in the tangible world.

She received her M.S. in Computer Science at Columbia University in 2022 and her B.A. in Art Practice at Stanford University in 2019, where she received the Guilla Webster McFarland Award in Design.
